What is Anxiety?
Anxiety is your body’s natural response to stress. It is a feeling of fear or nervousness about what is to come. But if your feelings of anxiety are extreme, last for at least six months, and are interfering with your life, you may have an anxiety disorder.
Anxiety affects everyone in different ways. Sometimes, the feelings of fear and dread do not go away or get worse over time. In the case of an anxiety disorder, the feeling of fear may be with you all the time. It is intense and sometimes devastating.
There are different types of anxiety disorders:
Panic disorder, phobia, social anxiety, separation anxiety, generalized anxiety disorder, substance or medication-induced anxiety, anxiety disorder due to other medical conditions.
